'Your Name' director Makoto Shinkai announces new film for 2022, reveals poster

Makoto Shinkai has an upcoming movie slated for 2022!

The Japanese director made the announcement on Twitter, Wednesday, with a poster of the film showing a "door of disaster that opens all over the archipelago."

Titled "Suzume no Tojimari," Shinkai said it will be a road movie where Suzume travels and goes on a modern adventure involving action as she fights with a certain existence.

"It should be a fun movie. Please look forward to the fall of 2022!" he wrote in Japanese.

In November last year, the director shared a sneak peek at an upcoming project with a storyboard he was working on.

Shinkai is famous for directing award-winning film "Your Name" (2016) and "Weathering With You" (2019).
