'Fruits Basket' film unveils romantic first teaser

Tohru definitely won our hearts in the "Fruits Basket" anime, but have you ever wondered about Tohru's parents?

Well, the series is getting a film version with a prequel, and now we get to know their love story.

"Fruits Basket: Prelude" just released its first teaser trailer, and it's all about Kyoko and Katsuya.

It looks like hearts will be fluttering — and undoubtedly breaking — in the upcoming film.

"Fruits Basket: Prelude" is a compilation film based on the anime series. Aside from the prequel, it will have an epilogue that will show the events that happened after the series concluded.

"Fruits Basket," based on the manga by Natsuki Takaya, follows high school girl Tohru, who becomes involved in the family drama of the Somas. The Soma family carries a curse where some of its members turn into Zodiac animals when hugged by someone of the opposite sex.

It was first adapted into anime in 2001 but a reboot version was released in 2019. The second season was released in 2020, and the third and final season premiered this 2021. —JCB, GMA News
