'Futurama' revival series in the works at Hulu
"Futurama" has been revived by Hulu, nearly 10 years after it left the screens.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the animated sci-fi sitcom will be returning for a 20-episode run, with original creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen on board.
The original cast will be returning as well.
"I’m thrilled to have another chance to think about the future … or really anything other than the present," Cohen was quoted as saying.
Groening added, “It’s a true honor to announce the triumphant return of Futurama one more time before we get canceled abruptly again.”
Production will start this month with a 2023 release date in mind, the report added.
"Futurama" aired on Fox from 1999 to 2003, and then on Comedy Central from 2008 to 2013. The show revolves around the Planet Express interplanetary delivery company and its employees. —JCB, GMA News
