Red Velvet returns as 'spring queens' with comeback album 'Feel My Rhythm'

Red Velvet went from summer queens to spring queens real quick!

The K-pop girl group just made a comeback their mini-album "The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm" this month, and released a music video for the title track "Feel My Rhythm."

In the latest episode of GMA's INKIPOP, Joy, Yeri, Irene, Seulgi, and Wendy talked to SHINEE's Minho about what they wanted to achieve with their latest album.

"There are songs that are called carol for spring. You can look forward to those spring songs. We’d like you to leave this spring to us," Wendy said.

"We are not summer queens anymore, we have come back as Spring Queens," she added.

The theme of spring is evident in their title track "Feel My Rhythm," which sampled Bach's "Air On The G String."

"So it has this familiar but fresh air," Wendy said. "The lyrics portray a journey through space and time, I think it matches spring well."

Spring is also incorporated into the song's choreography and music video!

"There is a part where the contrast is emphasized, like winter and spring, or night and day. To give you a hint, there are members who want to stay in winter, and who want to go forward in spring. You can enjoy it even more comparing those two," Yeri said.

Joy hinted that they're not stopping with just spring, though.

"Wendy mentioned Spring Queen. For now, but with each new release this year, I’d like for us to be Queens of All Seasons," she said. —JCB, GMA News
