Katrina Dimaranan says bye to pageantry after 10 years

Katrina Dimaranan has ended her decade-long pageant journey.

On Sunday, the Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2021 made the announcement by sharing a video compilation of her pageantry life.

“My 10-year journey has now come to an end and I am eternally grateful for all the memories I’ve shared with all of you, especially those who were with me since day one of this incredible journey,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I am happy and at peace that I can finally close this chapter and move forward to my next goals! I am extremely touched by the love, laughs, and support many of you have given and continue to give me.”

Katrina, who started joining beauty contests at 18, said pageantry was a “vital part” of her life where she met some of the most amazing people and learned many life lessons.

“All those sleepless nights, crying behind the scenes, the sisterhood, the celebrations, and the victories and the losses—I am beyond grateful. I will miss those moments,” said the beauty queen.

“This journey helped me accept that my past (and) my hardships actually inspired someone to aim for greatness and follow their dreams,” she added.

Katrina also shared an encouraging message to her followers. “Pursue the best version (of) yourselves,” she said.

“I hope you go reach for your dreams, and I would love to know if I ever become part of it because this time, I will be here cheering for you, like you did for me.”

The Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2021 said she would not be present to pass on her crown at Miss Universe Philippines 2022.

“Along with issues with my US residency, I have been occupied and focused with my nursing career and believe me, I really tried to make it work.”

Katrina flew back home to the United States in December after the Miss Universe 2021 pageant. In February, she announced that she was studying at a nursing school in California.
