Cinemalaya movies are back in mall theaters
After two years of being online, Cinemalaya is finally back in mall cinemas!
Screening in selected mall theaters for one whole week, from Wednesday, Aug. 10 to Tuesday, Aug. 16, the independent film festival aims to promote the diversity of Philippine cinema and storytelling by showcasing 23 finalists in this year’s main competition: 11 full-length films and 12 short films clustered in two sets.
Ten mall theaters nationwide are carrying the Cinemalaya films.
For Metro Manila moviegoers, Ayala Cinemas in Glorietta, Trinoma, and Manila Bay, as well as SM Cinemas in Megamall are screening at PHP250 per ticket.
For those outside Metro Manila, Ayala Cinemas in Capitol Central and Centrio are screening at PHP230 per ticket; while SM Cinemas in Baguio, Clark, Dasmariñas, and Legazpi are screening at PHP250 per ticket.
Both Ayala and SM Cinemas will screen different Cinemalaya movies at four time slots per day: 1:30 p.m., 3:50 p.m., 6:10 p.m., 8:30 p.m. for Ayala Cinemas; and 11:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m. for SM Cinemas.
Tickets can be purchased on-site at mall ticket booths, or online at TicketWorld and SMTickets.
Meanwhile, Cinemalaya will hold virtual screenings from Oct. 17-31. The awards night will be held on Aug. 14, Sunday, at 6:15 p.m. at Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay City.
