Itchyworms guitarist Chino Singson to move to Canada, says he’s not leaving band
The Itchyworms’ lead guitarist Chino Singson has announced that he and his family will be moving to Canada at the end of the month.
On the band’s Facebook page, Chino clarified that he was not leaving the band.
“To be clear, I’m not leaving the band as a member. ‘Change venue’ lang kumbaga. I’ll still be working with the team, helping out with social media and back office tasks,” he said.
“And like we did in 2020, we will make music even though we aren’t together physically. Who knows? You might still see me in gigs outside the Philippines,” he added.
“Is it difficult to part ways with something that has given and taught me so much over twenty-five years? TOTALLY. COMPLETELY. ABSOLUTELY.”
Chino ended his statement with a message for his bandmates and supporters.
“Jazz, Jugs, Kelvin, and Julie are my family. Our bond is eternal. To them I say: keep on showing the world our brand of music, thank you for everything, and I LOVE YOU,” he said.
“This is not ‘goodbye,’ this is ‘see you later.’”
He also said Mikey Amistoso of Ciudad and Weckl Mercado would now be part of the band’s extended lineup.
