Marie Kondo is now okay with a messy home
Marie Kondo, the popular Japanese organizing consultant, is now okay with a messy home.
"I was a professional tidier, so I did my best to keep my home tidy at all times," she said in an webinar, according to The Washington Post.
"I have kind of given up on that, in a good way for me. Now I realize what is important to me is enjoying spending time with my children at home," she continued.
The Washington Post said, the global personality who became popular for her decluttering method, "is a bit frazzled since giving birth to her third child in 2021."
Kondo's advice, "spark joy," became something of a tagline when she first turned popular in 2019.
"The ultimate goal is to spark joy every day and lead a joyful life," was the whole piece of advice, according to NPR.
Kondo launched to fame in 2019 with the Netflix series, "Tidying Up," where she helped people declutter their homes and only keep items that spark joy under the KonMari method. She followed that up with another Netflix show in 2021 titled, "Sparking Joy with Marie Kondo."
