Stephen Speaks gets pulled over in Manila, and here's how they got away with it

Stephen Speaks is certainly having an eventful time in Manila.

Currently in the Philippines for a series of shows, the band shared a funny experience when their Grab car got pulled over.

“Our Grab (like Uber) driver just got pulled in Manila over for running a red light, and my tour crew bribed him with a selfie with me to let us go,” they said on Facebook.

The traffic enforcer apparently sings 'Passenger Seat’ at the karaoke bar.

“I was like…. I can’t believe that actually worked."

Stephen Speaks, or the acoustic pop act led by Rockwell Ryan Ripperger, then clarified that the Grab driver did not do anything wrong.

“[The] kid driving us showed the officer on his dash cam that he was clear of the light, someone stopped in front of him and that’s why he didn’t make it all the way through,” they said. “You all need to chill out, we aren’t criminals here. I saved that kid from a traffic ticket he didn’t deserve.”

They added that they also offered to pay for the ticket.

Aside from 'Passenger Seat,' Stephen Speaks is known for the songs 'Out of My League' and 'All These Things.'

They are currently in Manila to play live shows.
