Makoto Shinkai's 'Suzume no Tojimari' opens in Philippine cinemas on March 8

"Suzume no Tojimari", the highly anticipated film by Makoto Shinkai, is opening in Philippine cinemas on March 8.

Warner Bros. Pictures made the announcement on Facebook, sharing a poster of the anime movie, which was released last November in Japan.

"Suzume no Tojimari" follows Suzume who discovers portal doors leading to different areas in Japan. Together with Souta, they attempt to close the doors as the portals bring destruction to the places they appear in.

It is Shinkai's first film since 2019's "Weathering With You."

In 2016, he released "Your Name," which went on to become one of the highest-grossing anime films of all time.
