David Licauco signs off as Fidel 'for now' after 'Maria Clara at Ibarra' finale

Is this a hint?!

David Licauco posted a thank you message after the finale of "Maria Clara at Ibarra," but it has fans wondering if he's leaving his character of Fidel permanently.

"Fidel signing off... for now," he said in the caption of his post, which includes a photo of himself looking dashing in his costume.

Whether or not Fidel is returning, though, David is ever grateful for the opportunity.

"Yesterday marks the end of MCI, with that, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who supported the show for the past 5 months," he said. "To my MCI fam, I appreciate all of you. To GMA, thank you so much for giving me this once in a lifetime opportunity."

"It has been an absolute honor playing the role of Fidel. Lastly, to all the hardworking team behind the cam, I’ve learned a lot from each and everyone of you. I am forever grateful!" he added.

David also posted the same photos on Facebook, simply saying, "Paalam."

Also starring Julie Anne San Jose, Dennis Trillo, and Barbie Forteza, “Maria Clara at Ibarra” is inspired by Dr. Jose Rizal’s novels “Noli Me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo.” It aired its finale on Friday.
