Eva Le Queen proud to represent the drag community in 'The Write One'

Eva Le Queen brought her queenliness to “The Write One!”

In the romantic drama’s official trailer, Kapuso viewers were able to get a glimpse of Eva’s character Queenie looking fab in an emerald green dress.

At the series’ grand media con at the Admiral Hotel in Manila, the “Drag Race Philippines” superstar shared how excited she is.

“This is my first acting engagement. You know, I'm a performer kasi, I do drag and yung last show ko naman is a reality show so sobrang excited ko,” she told the media.

“May pressure I think for me, kasi this is the first representation of drag in the mainstream other than the reality show, so parang it opens up a lot of [opportunity.] Parang, pwede pala na I am myself,” she added.

Eva was also given creative freedom for her role by doing her own makeup, styling, and wigs.

Ultimately, Eva is proud to represent the community.

“I’m just really proud to represent the queer community and my drag community dito,” she said.

Eva added that being around good people has also helped her on set.

“To be surrounded by such talented and very passionate people — mula kila Bianca, kila Ms. Lot, kila Ate Jazz — when you are surrounded by people who have so much passion, kahit wala kang experience sa acting, you will do your best,” Eva said.

She added that she is “extremely happy” to be part of the series.

“This is the right teleserye for my first [role],” she said.

“The Write One,” produced by GMA Public Affairs, is a romantic drama with a touch of fantasy. It follows married couple Liam (Ruru Madrid) and Joyce (Bianca Umali), who experience some intense problems in their relationship.

Liam finds a mysterious typewriter that allows him to rewrite his love and life story.

However, with this rewriting comes a whole new set of consequences as each character goes through some huge changes in the storylines.

Joining the star-studded cast are Mikee Quintos, Paul Salas, Mon Confiado, Lotlot De Leon, Ramon Christopher, Kokoy De Santos, Royce Cabrera, and Eva Le Queen, among many others.

“The Write One” premieres on March 18 on Viu and March 20 on GMA Network. It is the first collaboration between the two media giants. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
