The Weeknd is officially the world's most popular artist, according to the Guinness World Records

The Weeknd has been crowned the world's most popular artist by the Guinness World Records.

According to the records body, "no one else even comes close" to the musician's achievements in terms of numbers.

Born Abel Tesfaye, The Weeknd holds the record of most monthly listeners on Spotify with 111.4 million as of March 20. This is 30 million more listeners than second-placed Miley Cyrus, who has 82.4 million.

The Weeknd also holds the record as the first artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners on the music streaming platform.

These aren't The Weeknd's first Guinness World Records titles. In 2016, he earned the record of most streamed album on Spotify in 2015 with "Beauty Behind the Madness."

He also held the record for the most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 by a solo male artist.

Among The Weeknd's hits are "Can't Feel My Face," "The Hills," and "Blinding Lights."

Recently, he released a remix of his hit song "Die For You" featuring Ariana Grande. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
