Did you know? Kim Atienza is the Tagalog voice behind Steve Armstrong in 1999 'Voltes V' film

Before Kim Atienza became the household name that he is on national TV, he started working behind the scenes first as a dubber for several Japanese shows.

On Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Kuya Kim said that he was the Filipino voice of Steve Armstrong for the 1999 film of the Japanese anime "Voltes V."

"Ako ang nagboses kay Steve sa Tagalog," Kuya Kim said. "'Yung pelikula, hindi 'yung sa TV show."

Aside from "Voltes V," Kuya Kim also did a voice-over for the "Mask Man" and "Ultraman."

According to the Kapuso host, the production people from way back have already discovered that Kuya Kim's voice registers well for dubbing.

"Sabi nila 'yung boses daw ni Kuya Kim, distinct pero hindi announcer-like," he said.

"Ayaw nila nung announcer-like na boses eh pero 'pag narinig daw nila 'yung boses ni Kuya Kim, hindi daw nila malimutan," he added.

In October 2021, Kuya Kim signed with GMA Network.

Currently, Kuya Kim hosts GMA's variety show "TiktoClock" alongside Rabiya Mateo and Pokwang. He is also one of the broadcasters for the network's news magazine show "Dapat Alam Mo!"

He also has his own segment on "24 Oras," Kuya Kim Ano Na, where he shares trivia for trending news.
