V of BTS to release debut solo album 'Layover' in September


V of BTS is set to drop his debut solo album next month.

Titled “Layover,” it is composed of five songs and a bonus track which will be released on September 8 at 12 p.m., Philippine time, according to an announcement on Weverse.

Album pre-orders start on Tuesday, August 8.

The physical album has three versions, which may include items such as an outbox, photobook, lyric book, postcard, photocards, poster, checklist, and a letter.

According to the announcement, the first track is “Rainy Days,” wherein “V’s voice melds beautifully with the sound of rain and everyday white noises, tugging at the listeners’ heartstrings.”

The next is “Blue,” which pays tribute to old-school R&B but adds a modern twist.

“Love Me Again,” is another R&B track, where “V’s signature baritone shines through[.]”

“Slow Dancing” is a romantic, laidback song inspired by ‘70s soul. The album’s bonus track is a piano version of the song.

The fifth and final track is the pop R&B song “For Us.” “It serves as an epilogue, stirring up deep emotions with V’s vocals and unique lyrics,” the announcement said.

Music videos for all five tracks will also be released.

“V will showcase amazing new performances and make various appearances alongside the album’s release,” the announcement said. “Please stay tuned and continue to support V as he embarks on his new solo journey.”

V is the final member of BTS to release solo music. He previously released the cozy singles “Snow Flower,” “Winter Bear,” and “Christmas Tree.” He also covered “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” last holiday season.

Meanwhile, BTS’ RM, Jin, SUGA also known as Agust D, J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook have released their solo works starting in 2022.
