Facebook group Home Buddies celebrates 3rd anniversary with an exciting bazaar in October

Home Buddies to hold bazaar in October

Whether you're Team Kahoy, Team Puti, or Team Gubat, we could all agree that the lockdown during the pandemic has made us all virtual "Kapitbahays," all thanks to the Facebook group, Home Buddies.

This October, Home Buddies is set to celebrate its third anniversary with a fun-filled bazaar featuring established and budding local brands in the field of home improvement, decor, and design.

Set on October 1, "Home Buddies Bazaar" will spotlight a curated selection of furniture must-haves, household finds, and decoration pieces that bear the online community's mantra of budget-friendly shopping with style. The one-day free event will take place at the activity center of Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Pasay City.

According to Home Buddies founder Frances Lim Cabatuando, also known as "Mayora," the event is a celebration of the success of the pandemic-born group and to finally get a chance to meet some of its members physically.

"We just want to celebrate the community and allow its members to meet up in person since it's now safer to do so," Frances said in a press release. "I'm sure one way or another, we've all affected each other's lives."

"We just want to make them realize that the online group isn't just a Facebook group; it's a real, thriving community that helps Filipinos improve their homes."

Aside from its extensive roster of home improvement merchants and booths, there will also be song performances by Barbie Almalbis and Sandwich.

As of writing, Home Buddies has over three million members on its Facebook group, with most of its members still actively participating in discussions about home improvements and the latest home "budol" finds.
