Get ready to travel across the universe!

“The Little Prince,” the classic story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, has been adapted into a Filipino puppet play titled “Prinsipe Bahaghari.”

Written by Vladimeir Gonzales and directed by Aina Ramolete, “Prinsipe Bahaghari” tells the story of a prince who goes on a journey in search of a companion that would help him in caring for his flower, the Gumamela.

Prinsipe Bahaghari meets a diverse set of characters, which leads him to learn more about his relationship with and love for Gumamela.

Like the novel it is based on, the prince learns about the realities of life and love, grownups, and human nature. It also tackles themes of loneliness, relationships, loss, and grief.

The show opens on November 10 in line with National Children’s Month.

It will also be showing on November 11, 12, 17, 18, and 19, all at 7 p.m. It will be staged at the Amelia Lapeña-Bonifacio Teatro Papet Museo (MULAT), at 64 Mapagkawanggawa St., Teacher’s Village, Quezon City.

MULAT is a puppet theater company founded by the late National Artist for Theater and puppeteer Amelia Lapeña-Bonifacio.

Tickets are available via Ticket2Me and are priced at P800. The opening show on November 10 is already sold out, with tickets going fast for the remaining dates.

The Little Prince” was turned into an animated movie in 2015.
