Fiesta Carnival is set to open 'sometime in third week of November'

Fiesta Carnival Cubao Araneta

Fiesta Carnival, the iconic, busy attraction that welcomed guests in the 1970s all through the 1990s, is set to return to Araneta City ahead of the holiday season!

According to Araneta City, Fiesta Carnival will be located at the former Shopwise Araneta City branch across Smart Araneta Coliseum — which is its actual, original spot back in the day.

GMA News Online went to Cubao on Thursday and saw its iconic colorful sign of the amusement park is already up at the said location, exciting guests with its return!

Araneta said it targets to open the amusement park “sometime in the third week of November.”

The developer added they are still “finalizing how much space will it occupy, but the target plan is to occupy the whole area.”

Further details on the list of rides and attractions have yet to be announced.

In a teaser photo shared by Araneta City on Facebook earlier this month, Gen X and Millennial babies couldn’t hold their excitement, sharing their nostalgic Fiesta Carnival memories in the comments.

“Thank youuuuuu!!!!!! I thought my 90s self would be left in the past forever due to closure of alot of nostalgic places and venues in the metro. I'm grateful for this!!!” a user commented.

“I have lots of memories infiesta carnival, i miss riding their go-karts and horror ride,” another user wrote with heart-eyes emojis.

Some recalled enjoying the Big Dinosaur, Roller Coaster, and Bump Car rides, while others said it served as their “OG tambayan” before.

Before it closed down in the early 2000s, Fiesta Carnival housed rides, games, and food stalls where vistors spent their time together with family and friends.

In 2022, Araneta City opened a mini version of Fiesta Carnival located at General Roxas Avenue, but it soon closed again after a fire broke out at the Araneta City Bus Terminal.

In an email, Araneta City confirmed that yes, the upcoming Fiesta Carnival "will replace the Mini Fiesta Carnival."

And just like the original one, it will be a full, indoor amusement park with all the bells and whistles we sorely miss.

See you at Fiesta Carnival!
