Augmented reality books, e-books available at National Library of the Philippines
Did you know that you can borrow augmented reality books and e-books from the National Library of the Philippines?
According to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras,” Tuesday, the library records 300-400 daily visits despite the fast-changing digital age.
Among the books the library is currently offering are e-books, which are available on the library’s site and online.
It also offers augmented reality books, which make contents come to life when viewed with an application.
“It is partnered with a mobile application, which we call the Learn Life AR. Open lang natin siya, tapat natin siya dun sa mga images sa libro, then mag-o-augment po dun sa inyong mobile ‘yung mga images,” Vibal Publishing Marketing Supervisor for K-12 Immanuelle Puruganan said.
The library also uses a “retriever,” which makes locating books easier.
“Ang mga ginagamit natin na mga resources dito ay verified. Unang-una, alam natin kung sino’ng gumawa sa tulong ng ating mga librarians. Unlike sa internet, kung sino ‘yung nakikita mo, pino-post mo kaagad na hindi nabe-verify ‘yung mga information,” National Library of the Philippines director Cesar Gilbert Adriano said.
To visit the National Library, just register for an ID, which costs P100. — Carby Basina/BAP, GMA Integrated News
