'Tomb Raider' just dropped a remastered edition of its original video game trilogy

Lara Croft is back better than ever!

A remastered edition of the original "Tomb Raider" trilogy — "Tomb Raider I" (1996), "Tomb Raider II" (1997), and "Tomb Raider III" (1998) — has just been released.

Fans can now return to adventuring in Greece, the lost continent of Atlantis, the foothills of Tibet, and of course, the Croft Manor! Lara Croft's character design also got upgraded.

The collection, however, reminds players that it was a product of its time, and warns about "offensive depictions of people and cultures rooted in racial and ethnic prejudices."

"These stereotypes are deeply harmful, inexcusable, and do not align with our values at Crystal Dynamics. Rather than removing this content, we have chosen to present it here in its original form, unaltered, in the hopes that we may acknowledge its harmful impact and learn from it."

"Tomb Raider I-III Remastered" was released for several platforms including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows.

The "Tomb Raider" video game franchise, created by Core Design, follows the adventures of archaeologist and treasure hunter Lara Croft, who travels around the world in search of artifacts.

It birthed spin-off games, comics, and feature films. Among those who portrayed Lara Croft include Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
