Jericho Rosales' drama series 'Sellblock,' also starring Jaclyn Jose, to be presented at Cannes

“Sellblock,” an upcoming Filipino crime drama series starring Jericho Rosales, is headed to Cannes.

In an exclusive announcement by Deadline, the series will be presented at MIPTV, an annual event that gathers producers, distributors, and buyers from all around the world “to connect, commission and discover new series and projects for all genres and screens,” according to its website. MIPTV is happening from April 8 to 10 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.

“Sellblock” will be launched at the festival. The pilot episode will be screened for buyers.

The show follows one of Asia’s biggest drug empires, which happens to operate from inside a Philippines maximum-security prison.

“‘Sellblock’ is more than just a series,” Jericho told Deadline. “It’s an immersive experience that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Working alongside such a talented team has been an absolute privilege, and I can’t wait for viewers to see the magic we’ve created.”

Jericho added on Instagram, “Pack your bags team, we’re headed to Cannes. Open the prison gates, bring me a decent shirt and some cash.”

He also posted portraits of his character.

More stars include the late Jaclyn Jose, Empoy Marquez, Ronnie Lazaro, Mon Confiado, Sylvia Sanchez, and Ria Atayde.

"Sellblock" is produced by Manila-based BlackOps Studios Asia headed by Pedring Lopez, who also directed all eight episodes of the first season. The series is slated for a three-season run.
