'Mufasa' teaser trailer gives a glimpse of the Lion King's origin story

Make way for the original lion king!

Disney just unveiled the teaser trailer for "Mufasa: The Lion King," the upcoming musical film that explores the life of Mufasa, the father of Simba in the animated film.

The teaser shows Mufasa as a young cub, who is lost and alone until he meets a lion named Taka — the heir to a royal bloodline.

Aaron Pierre voices Mufasa, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. voices Taka. Others included in the star-studded cast are Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Donald Glover as Simba, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala.

The film features original songs by "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Directed by Barry Jenkins “Mufasa: The Lion King” will premiere in theaters on December 20. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
