Here's the first look at David Corenswet as the new Superman

James Gunn just unveiled the first look at the newest Man of Steel, David Corenswet!

On Instagram, the DC Studios co-CEO shared a poster of Corenswet suiting up in his official costume, complete with cape and underwear.

“Get Ready. #Superman 7.11.5,” Gunn wrote in the caption.

In June 2023, Corenswet was cast as Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming DC Studios film.

Written by Gunn, the film will hit theaters on July 11, 2025, and will focus on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human.

Aside from Corenswet, the film also stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Holt as Lex Luthor.

To recall, Henry Cavill formally stepped back as Superman, a role he played since 2013, after a meeting with Gunn and Peter Safran.

"James and Peter have a universe to build," Cavill said. "I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck and the happiest of fortunes."

Superman was last seen in the 2017 film "Justice League."
