5 facts about Manny Jacinto, the Filipino-Canadian 'Freakier Friday' actor capturing everyone’s hearts
Manny Jacinto was in the Philippines early this week and he has been getting more and more people curious about him.
Through the years, the “Freakier Friday” star has been proving his acting prowess, and of course, his charm.
Here are five facts about the Filipino-Canadian actor who has been capturing everyone’s hearts:
1. He was born in the Philippines and was raised in Canada
Manny was born Manuel Luis Jacinto on August 19, 1987 in Manila, Philippines, but he and his family moved to Richmond, British Columbia, Canada when he was three years old. He is of Filipino and Chinese descent, Forbes reports.
2. Beauty and brains
Manny is more than just his handsome looks! According to IMDB, the actor graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
And aside from English, Manny can speak several languages. “I speak French and a little Tagalog,” he told InStyle.
He also learned how to perfect the British accent for his role as the charming Eric in “Freakier Friday.”
3. He can dance, too

Manny was in a competitive hip-hop dance crew during his college days, according to Forbes. The magazine said his team placed 10th out of over 40 countries at the 2013 World Hip Hop Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada.
4. Manny is a fashion icon
A quick scroll through Manny’s Instagram page shows his appearances at fashion weeks and other red carpet events. And as always, he is dressed to the nines.
The fashion icon is seen attending events for Hermes, Tod’s, and Thom Browne, and was also previously on the cover of Vogue Man Philippines.
5. He’s got the most interesting roles
Manny has played a wide variety of characters. He rose to fame playing the dimwitted but lovable Jason Mendoza on “The Good Place” from 2016 to 2020.
Then in 2024, he transformed into Sith master The Stranger or Qimir in “The Acolyte.” As seen in his Instagram Reel, Manny trained for all his action scenes.
