Jessica Sanchez wows with performance of 'Ordinary' during 'America's Got Talent' live stage
Jessica Sanchez performed a powerful rendition of Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” during the quarterfinals of “America’s Got Talent!”
Proudly showing off her eight-month baby bump, the Filipina singer belted out an emotional version of the song which according to the show is a message to her baby girl to never stop believing in herself.
Judge Sofia Vergara, who gave her the golden buzzer, praised the singer for her amazing performance despite being pregnant.
“Bravo, Jessica! That was amazing. I know that you have felt that you’ve been struggling because of your belly and the breathing, and your voice doesn’t feel the same. But that was spectacular. The America is loving you,” Sofia said.
Like Sofia, Simon Cowell also lauded her performance.
Show’s host Terry Cruz then asked Jessica about her grand comeback on stage after 20 years which she said was “everything” for her.
“It means everything. I think I take pride on what I do on stage and I didn’t want to let my big belly to affect that so I’m super happy I was able to deliver. The judges love it and hopefully the Americas love it,” she said.
Jessica first went on the show when she was 10 years old and made it to the semifinals. She made a grand comeback in July where she sang the song “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone and earned a golden buzzer from Sofia.
The Golden Buzzer means the contestant advances to the live shows and no longer has to go through any audition rounds.
Jessica rose to fame as the runner-up in “American Idol” Season 11.
Since then, she has acted in “Glee,” performed at concerts and various events. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA Integrated News
