'People We Meet on Vacation': First look at Tom Blyth and Emily Bader as Alex and Poppy

Alex and Poppy are gearing up for their summer vacation!

Netflix on Wednesday unveiled the first look at the film adaptation of Emily Henry's romance novel "People We Meet on Vacation."

The photos show Tom Blyth and Emily Bader as Alex and Poppy lounging on the beach, sitting together on a plane, and trying our dessert during one of their travels.

"People We Meet on Vacation" follows two unlikely best friends of 10 years. Despite living in different cities, they spend every summer vacation together.

Director Brett Haley describes the story as "quite a simple slice-of-life story about two people just being able to love themselves and therefore love each other."

"I truly could not feel more confident that my readers and then so many more people who don’t even know about the book are going to completely fall in love with Poppy and Alex," he added.

"People We Meet on Vacation" will premiere on Netflix on January 9, 2026.
