'Awiting Wicked: For Good’ opens duet competition in PH

Calling all “Wicked” fans!

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, together with “Wicked” director Jon Chu, are inviting Filipinos to showcase their best duet of “For Good” through the “Awiting Wicked: For Good” competition.

From September 19 to October 5, Filipino duos can upload their entries on TikTok.

Ariana, Cynthia, and Jon will handpick three pairs of singers and will announce the winners on October 13.

Universal Pictures Philippines has also set up audition stations in SM Mall of Asia, SM Lanang, SM City Iloilo, and SM Seaside Cebu, where the duos can record their entries.

In August, the first look of “Wicked: For Good” teased how the friendship of Elphaba (Cynthia) and Glinda (Ariana) is tested.

As the sequel concludes the tale of the witches from the Land of Oz, director Jon said the story is about two friends trying to get back together in some way, even if the fates don't allow that.

“Wicked: For Good” premieres in cinemas on November 21.

Aside from Ariana and Cynthia, the film will also bring back Jonathan Bailey as Prince Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp, and Ethan Slater as Boq Woodsman.
