‘DRPH: Slaysian Royale:’ Meet the Top 4 queens advancing to the finale
After nine weeks of fierce competition among 12 Asian queens, “Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale” has finally revealed its Top 4 contenders advancing to the finale: Arizona Brandy, Brigiding, Viñas Deluxe, and the only international queen left standing Suki Doll.
At the Bekenemen viewing party hosted by Baus Rufo and Myx Chanel on Wednesday night, Suki Doll reflected on her journey and expressed gratitude for the love she’s received from Filipino fans as she stayed in the country for the show’s final stretch.
“The Filipino fans are incomparable anywhere in the world,” said the drag queen from Canada's Drag Race Season 2.
“You know, we’ve traveled and we have performed everywhere, and the big difference is the energy,” she added. “You made us feel so confident, so loved.”
In last night's “High Time” episode, the queens were challenged to strip down to their most authentic selves: posing barefaced, without makeup, wigs, or costumes.
Later on the runway, they transformed once again, serving opulent looks that embodied their winning energy and readiness to claim the crown.
Here’s what each of the Top 4 queens had to say about why they deserve to be crowned the first-ever Slaysian Royale Drag Superstar.
Suki Doll
“I believe to be the Slaysian Royale first winner, it has to be represented by somebody who has not only the virtues, the values to represent all of Asia, but also the talent and the roundness that is needed in the competition.
"Obviously, in every step of the way, we have all had our impediments, and we have tripped along the way. But in any of those moments, I have been able to surpass it and also continue with it.
"I do represent myself as a winner of not only Slaysian Royale, but of the drag art that I perform for myself and also that I represent on this platform.”
Suki Doll earned one RuBadge in the season.
Arizona Brandy
“I’ve grown a lot. I’ve shown that growth all throughout my journey here. I’ve shown them versatility. I just don’t want to win just because I want to win. I want to win this so that I can inspire local, Filipino drag queens like me.
"And this time around, I’m not just going to represent my drag family. I want to represent the whole local Filipino drag queens and I hope when they watch this, they’ll be proud and they’ll be inspired because they have all inspired me all throughout my journey here.”
Arizona Brandy earned two RuBadges in the season, including signature Rusical episode.
Brigiding
“I think I should be the first Slaysian Royale winner because through this show, I believed in myself. I’ve learned to accept my flaws. I’ve learned to accept my journey. And I want the whole world to see themselves in me.
"They may be losing, they may be heartbroken, but soon, if they believe in themselves and trust the process, everything will happen for a reason. And soon, they will be crowned and represent Slaysian Royale to the world.”
Brigiding earned three RuBadges in the season.
Viñas Deluxe
“I should win the Slaysian Royale because I’m a great representation of being celebrated for their flaws, and I know I represent drag of the Philippines very well. I have charisma, I am very unique, and I am talented. I sing, I dance, I act, and I did everything in this competition.
"And I’ve proven to myself that I can be at the top. Thank you.”
Vin?as Deluxe earned two RuBadges in the season.
