‘One Piece’ Season 3: Xolo Maridueña joins cast as Portgas D. Ace

Netflix has found its Fire Fist Ace!

Xolo Maridueña has just been announced to play Portgas D. Ace in the live action adaptation of “One Piece.”

The American actor is joining the third season of the live-action anime series as the character Portgas D. Ace.

Also called Fire Fist Ace, Portgas D. Ace was the captain of the Spade Pirates before getting recruited to the Whitebeard Pirates and becoming its 2nd division commander.

Xolo’s casting was announced on Instagram with a video of him reading the script, and fast are loving it.

“He deserves to play this character. I can't hold back my tears, I'm so hyped and happy,” one fan said on Instagram.

“OMG I CALLED IT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY SO EXCITING! Could not love this casting more,” another fan piped in.

Xolo is best known for his roles as Miguel Diaz in “Cobra Kai” and Jaime Reyes in “Blue Beetle.”

Earlier, Netflix showcased the locations that the Straw Hat Pirates will visit in the new season, and provided a first look of the adorable Tony Tony Chopper.   

"One Piece" Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on March 10, 2026.

Based on the long-running manga by Eiichiro Oda, it follows Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hats in their search for the ultimate treasure, the One Piece.
