Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo send love to PH ahead of ‘Wicked: For Good’ release

Singapore may be the only Asian stop of the “Wicked: For Good” tour — and a fan may have caused a commotion charging at Ariana Grande with Cynthia Erivo coming to protect her — but both stars have their Filipino fans in mind.

Monday’s episode of “Unang Hirit” aired Lyn Ching's interview with Ariana and Cynthia as well as with Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh.

According to Ariana, starring in “Wicked: For Good” is a full-circle moment because it has been her dream to play Glinda since she was a child.

In fact, she used her full name, Ariana Grande-Butera, in the movie credits to honor her father.

“He [father] definitely shed a tear or two,” she said.

Meanwhile, Jeff said his “life feels good” ahead of the “Wicked: For Good” release.

“I’m glad that I can still be full of life and at the peak of my blossoming, it feels like, surprisingly,” he said.

For Michelle, the upcoming part two of “Wicked” is all about empowerment.

“There are a lot of good messages [in the film],” she said. “Not everyone will walk away with the same message, and I hope you find yours.”

When asked for their message to Filipino fans, both Ariana and Cynthia said, “We love our fans from the Philippines. We send our love.”

On social media, Lyn proudly shared that she was able to give bracelets again to Ariana and Cynthia, this time customized with their names.

The Kapuso broadcaster earlier gave the two customized bracelets during the 2024 press tour, with Cynthia becoming emotional then because the bracelet featured her mother’s words.

Wicked: For Good,” the second act of “Wicked,” premieres in Philippine cinemas on November 19.

Ariana stars as Glinda, Cynthia as Elphaba, Michelle as Madame Morrible, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard.

Its soundtrack will feature two new songs by Cynthia and Ariana. — Hermes Joy Tunac/LA, GMA Integrated News
