French bulldogs gather at first-ever Frenchie Gala in Quezon City

French bulldogs and their owners came together for the first-ever Frenchie Gala, an event organized to showcase the breed and celebrate the growing community of Frenchie lovers.

According to Kuya Kim’s report on “24 Oras,” Friday, the event was organized by Justin Soriano, whose love for French bulldogs began in 2017.

“Kaya kami nagkaroon ng interes sa French Bulldogs dahil po nakakita po kasi ako ng iba't-ibang kulay ng French bulldogs,” he said.

He described the breed as gentle and affectionate despite their tough appearance.

“Sa tagal kong nag-aalaga ng French bulldogs, never kong nakita [na] nagpakita ng galit,” Justin said.

To help more people appreciate Frenchies, Justin organized the inaugural event, where owners and their pets gathered for a day of activities and socialization.

One of the highlights was the stage runway, where Frenchies showed off their charm after days of preparation.

Young handlers also took part in the event, with nine-year-old Zofia Cruz named Best Junior Handler.

Meanwhile, outstanding Frenchies were recognized and awarded trophies.

“Another thing also is to highlight the community, the connection. We invited a whole community that supports the entire cycle of it,” assistant event director Mary Delfin said.

“Sobrang importante ng impact because we are promoting the zero discrimination in a sense of understanding that every creature has a life and they deserve recognition,” The Breeders Club ambassador Mellrick Mayor said.
