Anne Hathaway transforms into a pop star in intriguing 'Mother Mary' trailer
A psychological drama-thriller film is about to hit the big screen, and it stars none other than Anne Hathaway.
From A24, the studio behind "Everything Everywhere All At Once," "Midsommar," "Moonlight," and many more, comes "Mother Mary," which follows iconic pop star Mother Mary, who reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm on the eve of her comeback performance.
As Mother Mary, Hathaway goes blonde, donning a sparkly bodysuit and a halo-inspired headdress.
The trailer declares: "This is not a ghost story. This is not a love story. This is a prayer, a song, a dress, a communion, a betrayal, a sacrifice, a rebirth."
Directed by David Lowery, "Mother Mary" is set or release on April 2026.
It also stars Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Isaura Barbé-Brown, Alba Baptista, Sian Clifford, and FKA Twigs.
The film will feature original songs by Charli XCX, FKA Twigs, and Jack Antonoff. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
