5 of the most exciting game announcements at The Game Awards 2025

The Game Awards is exciting for more than one reason: awarding of the year's best games aside, it also comes with a slew of exciting new announcements for upcoming titles.

Here are some of the biggest announcements from the night.

Resident Evil Requiem

"Resident Evil Requiem" unveiled a new trailer, thrilling fans with a familiar face: none other than Leon S. Kennedy.

The beloved agent, who is the protagonist in several "Resident Evil" games, appears guns blazing to help FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft.

"Resident Evil Requiem" launches February 27, 2026.

 

Divinity

Larian Studio, the developer of critically acclaimed "Baldur's Gate 3," has new project up its sleeve.

Its next project is an installment for its franchise "Divinity," and the upcoming game is said to be its biggest yet — even bigger than "Baldur's Gate!"

 

 

Dungeons & Dragons: Warlock

A new "Dungeons & Dragons" game is on the way!

Wizards of the Coast and Invoke Studios announced "Dungeons & Dragons: Warlock," where players will take on the role of veteran warrior Kaatri and wield forbidden magic.

The third-person action-adventure game is set for release in 2027.

 

 

Tomb Raider Catalyst

Lara Croft is coming back for a new adventure! "Tomb Raider Catalyst," a brand new installation in the iconic franchise, was announced during The Game Awards 2025.

Not only that, "Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis," is getting a remake. The game was originally released in 1996.

 

 

Control Resonant

Up for something in the paranormal genre?

Remedy Entertainment announced the new game in its "Control" franchise, "Control Resonant."

The new game will allow players to explore a "warped Manhattan on the brink of paranatural annihilation." It follows Dylan Faden as he fights for his humanity and survival against a reality-bending cosmic threat.  

It is set to launch in 2026.

 

 

Total War: Warhammer 40,000

From Sega comes an addition to its "Total War" franchise: "Warhammer 40,000."

The trailer was revealed by none other than "Stranger Things" star David Harbour, who proudly announced his involvement.

"Warhammer 40,000" is described as a "brutal fusion of galactic strategy and grimdark warfare." 

 

 

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic

For Star Wars fans, here's something for you: Arcanaut Studio just unveiled "Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic."

Director Casey Hudson, known for the "Mass Effect" trilogy and the original "Knight of the Old Republic" game, presented the new single-player narrative-driven action RPG, which will be set in the Old Republic universe.

The upcoming game is described as an "epic interactive adventure across a galaxy on the brink of rebirth where every decision shapes your path towards light or darkness."
