5 cozy video games released in 2025 that you can play for a comforting Christmas
2025 was a year of great games—from "Monster Hunter Wilds" to "Clair Obscur Expedition 33," there was no shortage of action and adventure.
But the year also saw creativity and comfort come in the form of cozy video games, and what better time to play them than the holidays?
Here are some of the standout cozy titles released this 2025.
Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar

When someone says "cozy," we say "Story of Seasons!" The classic farming franchise released a new title in August: "Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar."
The game introduces Zephyr Town, where players can grow a farm, restore the town bazaar to its former glory, and enjoy the windmills and the fresh breezes.
Originally known as "Harvest Moon," "Story of Seasons" continues the dream of the farm life in "Grand Bazaar." The latest title is a remake of "Harvest Moon DS: Grand Bazaar."
Where to play: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Windows
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
Yet another from a classic franchise, "Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma" takes players to the eastern lands that suffered from a calamity called the Celestial Collapse.
Aside from farms and villages, the "Rune Factory" spin-off features battles and dungeons, with the player assuming the role of an Earth Dancer to fight against the Blight.
"Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma" was released in June.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time
In "Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time," which was released in May, players assume the role of an adventurer who discovers an uncharted island that thrived a thousand years ago before its downfall.
Players can shape the island however they wish, building houses and designing landscapes with freedom. They can switch between 14 jobs (called "Lives") and choose to live how they like.
And of course there's the mystery surrounding the island that they must solve, and perhaps, they might even save the world.

Tiny Bookshop

In this game released in August, players open a tiny bookshop by the sea in a town called Bookstonbury. They get to decorate the shop with any ambience they want, stock books based on their customers' tastes, and get to know the locals along the way.
There's much to discover as well: the town's history, secrets, and crooks and crannies.
Where to play: Nintendo Switch, Linux, Windows, Mac OS
Winter Burrow

Players, who play as a mouse fresh from the big city, go back to their hometown to find their childhood burrow in ruins. In the process of restoring their burrow, players can explore the snowy wilderness, craft tools, meet friends, and even knit sweaters.
The indie game was launched in November.
