'Red, White & Royal Blue' sequel film begins production

Before "Heated Rivalry," there was "Red, White & Royal Blue!"

If you're looking for something to scratch the BL itch, here's some good news: the sequel to the 2023 hit rom-com, revealed to be itled "Red, White & Royal Wedding," is now in production.

In a video shared on the film's official Instagram account, stars Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez return to reprise their roles as Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz.

They shared that they're filming for the wedding of Pricess Beatrice (Ellie Bamber), the younger sister of Prince Henry.

The "Red, White & Royal Blue" movies are based on Casey McQuiston's 2019 novel. According to People Magazine, the author returns to co-write the sequel film with the first film's writer-director Matthew López, plus Gemma Burgess. 

Amazon MGM Studios greenlit "Red, White & Royal Wedding" in October following the "incredible outpouring of love" for the first film, which was released in 2023 on Prime Video.

The story follows the secret romance of Alex Claremont-Diaz, the first son of the United States, and Prince Henry.
