'Legally Blonde' prequel series gets Season 2 renewal ahead of Season 1 premiere in July
"Elle," the upcoming "Legally Blonde" prequel series, just got an early renewal at Prime Video!
The streaming service announced a July 1 premiere date for Season 1, and revealed that Season 2 is already in production.
The show will follow Elle Woods' high school life before she became a Harvard-graduate lawyer in “Legally Blonde.”
Lexi Minetree will play the young Elle Woods. Reese Witherspoon, the original and iconic Elle Woods, is among the show's executive producers.
"Twenty-five years after the world met Elle Woods for the first time, it's a dream come true to share the story of how she became the unstoppable force we all fell in love with," Reese said in a statement.
"I can’t wait to share Season 1 with the world and start rolling cameras on Season 2," she added.
The first "Legally Blonde" movie came out in 2001, and its sequel, "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde," followed in 2003.
