Young 'Harry Potter' fan meets J.K. Rowling and gets her autograph in Palawan

A young Potterhead had a dream-come-true moment when she met the author of "Harry Potter" herself, J.K. Rowling, in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

According to Vicky Morales' report on "24 Oras" on Friday, eight-year-old Sophia Sky Formaliza encountered the British novelist at Puerto Princesa International Airport and got her to sign two of her "Harry Potter" books.

Sophia became an avid fan of "Harry Potter" after her father bought her the book series. Per the report, the young girl was only two years old when she first became drawn to books.

"'Yung world po ni Harry, gusto ko po on how it is magical. There are chocolate frogs, the Sorting Hat, and the Invisibility Cloak, 'yung mga ganun po. Very happy po ako kasi idol ko po siya at siya po ang gumawa ng 'Harry Potter.' Thank you to Ms J.K. Rowling, she was very kind to me," said Sophia Sky.

Sophia's mom, Angie Larios Formaliza, had shared the magical encounter on Facebook on Wednesday. According to her, Sophia has read the "Harry Potter" series many times over.

"She's basically a walking 'Harry Potter' encyclopedia by this time," Angie wrote in her post. "For two consecutive Christmases, 'Harry Potter'-themed items were always part of her wish list."

She added that her daughter felt blessed upon meeting J.K. Rowling, saying, "It was truly a dream come true for my bookworm ate. I'm so happy for you ate Sophia Sky. Keep conquering your dreams my love."

Angie's post has garnered almost 2,000 reactions on Facebook as of this writing, with many netizens expressing their joy for the young reader.

J.K. Rowling is the novelist behind the globally successful "Harry Potter" book series, which was later adapted into a blockbuster movie franchise starring Daniel Radcliffe as the titular character, Emma Watson as Hermione, and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley.

A "Harry Potter" series by HBO Max is in the works, with Rowling serving as the show's executive producer.
