Netflix announces BTS comeback live special, documentary film
BTS is set to take over Netflix!
The streaming giant on Tuesday announced that it will exclusively stream live the highly anticipated comeback performance of BTS at the historic Gwanghwamun in Seoul on March 21. It will premiere at 8 p.m. KST.
"Netflix has partnered with HYBE to bring the pop royalty back to the stage for this unprecedented, historic worldwide comeback event," Netflix said in a statement.
BTS will perform at Gwanghwamun to celebrate their upcoming album "Arirang," which is set to drop on March 20. It will mark RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook's first live performance as a group after a four-year hiatus.
The South Korean's supergroup return to the music scene will also be featured in "BTS: The Return," a documentary film centered on the making of their album. It will land on Netflix on March 27.
"This feature-length documentary chronicles the long-awaited return of pop royalty, BTS," Netflix said. "The film offers unprecedented access, following BTS as they come back together to begin a reunion set to be etched in pop culture history, while reflecting on the journey that transformed seven Korean members into global icons."
Following their album's release, BTS will kick off their "Arirang" world tour, which will make stops in 81 shows across 34 cities. According to their label BigHit Music, this marks the largest number of dates in K-pop tour history.
BTS will be bringing the tour to the Philippines on March 13 to 14, 2027, their first time in the Philippines in 10 years.
