Blair Waldorf of ‘Gossip Girl’ to get solo sequel novel –report
Blair Waldorf, one of the leading characters in the book-turned-hit TV series “Gossip Girl,” is set to have a standalone sequel novel titled “Blair.”
According to an exclusive report by Deadline, “Gossip Girl” author Cecily von Ziegesar will write the sequel in partnership with Alloy Entertainment.
The upcoming novel is set 20 years after the original “Gossip Girl” series, with Blair now in her 40s, returning to New York to climb the ladder of the Upper East Side food chain.
The tentative release date is set for mid-2027, per Deadline.
As of writing, there is no confirmed information on whether the sequel will be adapted into a TV series.
The original “Gossip Girl” book was published in 2002, followed by 12 additional books, with the final installment released in 2009.
In 2007, it was adapted into a TV series following a group of privileged teens living on New York’s Upper East Side, including Blair (Leighton Meester), Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), and Brooklyn native Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley). —Hermes Joy Tunac/JCB, GMA Integrated News
