Rescued animals may be your PURR-fect date or third wheel this Valentine’s Day
For those looking to step away from crowded restaurants and predictable Valentine’s plans, the Philippine Animal Welfare Society is offering an alternative that places compassion at the center of Love Month.
Through its annual Valentine’s fundraising activity, PAWS is opening its Animal Rehabilitation Center (PARC) in Quezon City to the public for scheduled visits that allow guests to spend time with rescued dogs and cats.
Each booked visit helps fund the shelter’s daily operations, including food, veterinary care, medication, and rehabilitation for hundreds of animals currently under PAWS’ care.
Beyond financial support, the organization said human interaction also plays a key role in helping rescued animals regain trust and social skills.
Unlike traditional Valentine’s activities, the shelter visits are not limited to couples.
PAWS encourages individuals, families, and groups of friends to take part, emphasizing that love can take many forms — including time, attention, and care given to animals who are still waiting for permanent homes.
To ensure the safety and welfare of both visitors and animals, PAWS limits the number of daily slots and requires advance booking. Visits are supervised by shelter staff and volunteers, and guests are guided on proper interaction with the animals.
PAWS’ Animal Rehabilitation Center is located along Aurora Boulevard corner Katipunan Avenue in Loyola Heights, Quezon City. Interested participants may book their visit through PAWS’ official website.
