'One Piece' Season 2 unveils official trailer full of fan favorite moments from the anime
The Straw Hats are in the Grand Line!
Netflix has finally unveiled the first official trailer for the upcoming second season of the "One Piece" live action series, and it's worth the wait. Following the newly formed pirate crew's adventures in the East Blue, they're now sailing to the Grand Line in search of the ultimate treasure, the One Piece.
The trailer shows glimpses of the Straw Hat Pirates' upcoming journey: the ascent on the Reverse Mountain, the dinosaurs of Little Garden, the snow in Drum Island. There are also iconic scenes inspired directly by creator Eiichiro Oda's manga and the anime adaptation, such as Luffy carrying Nami up a mountain in Drum Island, Robin introducing herself to the crew on the Going Merry, and Zoro cutting down enemies in Whiskey Peak.
More importantly, the trailer gives a generous look at the beloved reindeer Chopper, and a first look at Katey Sagal's Dr. Kureha.
Along with the trailer, Netflix also released a letter from Oda.
"All the conventions that were established in Season 1 will be shattered," the mangaka said. "A parade of Devil Fruit users, a race of giants never before seen, adorable creatures, hard-hitting action, and stunning VFX — this season is packed with even more highlights!"
Netflix's "One Piece" live action series premiered in 2023 and immediately became a global phenomenon. According to the streaming giant, it spent eight weeks on the Global Top 10, and reached no. 1 in over 75 countries.
