'F1' sequel in the works, producer confirms

A sequel to the Brad Pitt-starrer "F1" is officially happening!

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer told People magazine that they're already working on the story.

"It's really good. We're talking to Lewis Hamilton. We're getting it going through him and pitching him the ideas and see what he thinks," he said.

On whether Pitt will be returning, Bruckheimer  said, "We'll see. I'm not going to tell you yet."

From Apple Original Films and the filmmakers from "Top Gun: Maverick," "F1" became a box office hit following its release in June 2025.

It follows Pitt's Sonny Hayes, Formula 1's most promising driver until a career-ending accident, who makes a comeback to the track, driving alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris).

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the film also stars Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Javier Bardem. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
