Filipinos flock to Luneta Park, Pasig River Esplanade ahead of Valentine's Day
Love is in the air!
As seen in Raffy Tima’s report in “24 Oras” on Friday, Filipinos have flocked to Luneta Park and the Pasig River Esplanade to celebrate ahead of Valentine’s Day.
Among them were Michael and Grace, whose early Valentine’s Day date at Luneta Park became even more special with the presence of their one-month-old child.
“Kami po ay magsisimba po bukas [Feb 14] kaya inagahan na namin. First born child po namin at galing po sila ng probinsya tapos ako po dito nagtrabaho po,” Michael said.
“Everyday is Valentine’s Day naman sa amin,” Grace added.
Aside from couples, families also spent some quality time together at the park.
Christine, on the other hand, chose to have a solo date while her partner is currently at work.
“Nasa work po siya ngayon so baka bukas [Feb 14], mag-d-date kahit saglit,” she said.
For Jessie and his friend, they decided to have a date at the Pasig River Esplanade today, anticipating a huge crowd tomorrow.
“Naglakad kami Ongpin to Binondo, Binondo to Intramuros po, tapos photobooth po at kain po,” he said.
According to Tima's report, over 200 couples also tied the knot simultaneously during the “Kasalan ng Bayan" in Quezon City. Many of the pairs have been long-time partners who finally decided to formalize their union after delays caused by financial constraints and busy schedules.
Meanwhile, buyers have flocked to Dangwa in Manila to purchase flowers for Valentine's Day. Flower prices have increased due to demand from buyers. A single rose now ranges from P150 to P200, a bouquet without roses costs P400, a bouquet with one rose priced at P500, and a dozen roses priced at P3,000.
