Markiplier's 'Iron Lung' announces advance fan screening ahead of Philippine premiere

Markiplier's fans have a chance to watch his horror film "Iron Lung" before it officially arrives in Philippine cinema!

Encore Films Philippines announced that the film will have an exclusive fan screening on February 21 at SM North EDSA, SM Megamall, and SM Mall of Asia at 5:00 p.m.

Tickets cost P600, and come with a free collectible poster. They are available for purchase on SM Cinema's website.

"Iron Lung" will officially premiere in local cinemas on February 25.

In a recent YouTube livestream, Markiplier announced that the film will have a theatrical release in several international territories, including the Philippines, as part of its next rollout.

According to Forbes, the streamer's self-financed film has become a major box office success by earning $21.7 million worldwide in its opening weekend, which is approximately seven times its reported $3 million budget.

“Iron Lung” is based on the 2022 horror game by David Szymanski and is accompanied by music by Andrew Hulshult.

The story follows a convict sent to explore a desolate moon in a post-apocalyptic future after an event known as “The Quiet Rapture.”

In the film, Markiplier will play Simon, a prisoner sealed inside a rusted submarine navigating an ocean of blood on moon AT-5, bringing the game’s unsettling premise and intense atmosphere to the big screen.

"Iron Lung" marks Markiplier’s debut as a feature filmmaker and is a self-funded project in which he serves as director, writer, producer, editor, and lead actor. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA Integrated News
