Sponge Cola brings nostalgic romance with 2026 version of classic hit 'Gemini'
Sponge Cola is bringing a wave of nostalgia to millennials and music lovers who grew up singing along to their hits.
For Valentine’s Day, the band shared a 2026 version of “Gemini” on Instagram, the single they released in 2005 that helped propel them to popularity.
The OPM dedicated the performance to this year’s Heart’s Day.
“Para sa lahat ng umiibig at iniibig,” they wrote.
In the comment sections, Sponge Cola fans expressed their delight over the 2026 version of the song, while some said the music made them feel like it was 2005 all over again.
“Bumalik ata ako sa 2005,” one Instagram user commented.
“Makes me nostalgic for my High School days here, those were good, fun, and simple days,” another netizen wrote.
In 2025, Sponge Cola performed in Singapore, marking their first live performance in the Little Red Dot since 2017.
In 2024, the OPM band released “Tatlong Buwan,” inspired by the hit K-drama series, “Queen of Tears.”
Aside from "Gemini," the OPM band is known for their hits “Jeepney” and “Tuliro.”
