Miley Cyrus announces 'Hannah Montana' 20th anniversary special
Miley Cyrus is going back to her roots as "Hannah Montana" celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
The singer and actress on X announced the "Hannah Montana" 20th Anniversary Special, premiering on Disney+ on March 24.
The teaser shows a black car rolling up with the plate number "HM20," and a pair of high-heeled boots disembarking.
In a press statement, Miley said, "'Hannah Montana' will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection."
"The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I'm very proud of. This 'Hannahversary' is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years," she added.
"Hannah Montana" first aired on Disney Channel on March 24, 2006. The sitcom follows teenager Miley Stewart who leads a double as a famous pop star.
It was Miley's breakout role. As Hannah Montana, she became iconic for hits like "The Best of Both Worlds," "Nobody's Perfect," "If We Were A Movie," and many more. In 2009, Walt Disney Pictures released "Hannah Montana: The Movie."
Miley went on to release hits under her own name, such as "Party in the USA," "Wrecking Ball," "We Can't Stop," and "Angels like You." At the 66th Grammy Awards, Miley's hit single "Flowers" earned her two trophies: Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
She also starred in the 2010 film "The Last Song."
