SB19 drops new single ‘Visa'; Ninong Ry, Poca make cameo in MV
SB19's latest single, "Visa," is here!
The P-pop group released “Visa” on Friday alongside its music video, which featured content creators Ninong Ry and Poca, among others.
In the music video, Stell, Justin, Pablo, Josh, and Ken can be seen all dressed up in semi-formal attire. They undergo a tedious visa process only to end up getting denied.
Ninong Ry was one of the members of a band seen dancing and playing trumpets. Meanwhile, Poca was the visa officer who was assessing the applicants.
According to SB19, “Visa” captures the struggles faced by overseas Filipino workers, athletes, artists, and professionals who tirelessly represent the Philippines on the global stage, yet often encounter systemic obstacles that limit their opportunities and recognition.
The group added that the single draws partial inspiration from real-life events and continuing discussions about visa rejections impacting Filipinos, including their own experiences.
“We were very affected by visa applications during our tour,” Pablo said.
“SB19 has been active for seven years, and we hope that songs like these can reach officials and encourage laws that make it easier for athletes, artists, and others working overseas to access visas,” he added.
SB19's last release, the "Simula at Wakas: Kickoff Concert Album," came out in January.
SB19 staged concerts in 19 cities for their "Simula at Wakas" world tour in support of their third EP of the same name. The "Simula at Wakas" EP completes their EP trilogy, after "Pagsibol" and "Pagtatag."
The P-Pop group is set to hold "Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Finale" on April 18 at the SMDC Festival Grounds.
They will also be among the performers of the Dance Universe Never Killed, or the DUNK Showcase in Japan in March, alongside Cup of Joe and BGYO.
