'Genshin Impact' anime drops long-awaited teaser featuring Lumine and Aether

After years with no word on the anime adaptation of "Genshin Impact," Japanese animated company Ufotable confirmed that the project is still pushing through.

In a promotional reel released on YouTube on Saturday, Ufotable unveiled its upcoming projects for 2026 and beyond. The video shared a glimpse of the Genshin anime, listed as one of the company's "future projects."

The brief teaser shows the playable protagonists of the hit video game, Aether and Lumine, reaching their hands out for each other. In the game, the Travelers, who come from another world, get separated while traveling to Teyvat, where the main story takes place.

Hoyoverse and Ufotable announced the Genshin anime in 2022. The initial concept trailer shows the Traveler's trusty guide, Paimon, in a forest, as well scenes showcasing the familiar landscapes of Mondstadt and the mountains of Dragonspine, among others.

"Genshin Impact" is an open world RPG released in 2020 by Hoyoverse. It quickly gained popularity and remains to be one of the most popular gacha games in the market. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
