Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight scheduled in September to be streamed live on Netflix

Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight scheduled in September to be streamed live on Netflix

The much-anticipated rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. this September is officially set to stream live on Netflix.

According to the streaming platform, the professional rematch will take place on September 19, 2026, at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will be broadcasted live globally on Netflix, which will give fans around the world a full access to one of boxing’s most historic rivalries.

The rematch between Pacquiao and Mayweather comes 10 years after their “Fight of the Century” which took place on May 2, 2015 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

During that fight, Mayweather Jr. won via unanimous decision.

In a November 2025 interview with Second Out, Pacquiao said a rematch is still “under negotiation.”

“It depends on whether we can understand each other. My people and his people (are) directly coordinating,” Pacquiao said, adding it’s going to be "a real fight," not an exhibition.

After retiring from competitive boxing in 2017 with a 50-0 record (27 KOs), Mayweather Jr. has stepped in the ring for four exhibitions, the most recent in August 2024 for an eight-round no-decision against John Gotti III.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao came out of retirement after nearly four years in July 2025 in a bid to become the oldest welterweight champion in boxing history. He fell short in a majority draw against WBC belt holder Mario Barrios, 30, in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs) holds the record for oldest welterweight champion, winning the belt via split-decision over Keith Thurman in 2019. The People's was enshrined into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in June 2025.

Meanwhile, Netflix appears to have its eyes set on sports. Earlier this year, it organized and live-streamed Alex Honnold climbing Taipei 101 without ropes. — Jade Veronique Yap/LA, GMA Integrated News
