'5 Centimeters per Second' live-action film to screen in the Philippines

The live-action adaptation of "5 Centimeters per Second" is coming to the Philippines!

According to Viewers' Choice Philippines, the 2025 film based on Makoto Shinkai's heart-wrenching anime film will soon be hitting the big screen courtesy of SM Cinemas.

No dates have been announced as of yet.

"5 Centimeters per Second" (2007) is an animated coming-of-age film by Makoto Shinkai, who is famous for the likes of "Your Name" (2016) and "Weathering with You" (2019). It follows Takaki T?no as he navigates life and relationships.

The live action film, directed by Yoshiyuki Okuyama and starring Hokuto Matsumura, premiered in October 2025.
